code of conduct
Although each meeting is independent and autonomous from one another Recovery Your Way (RYW) expects all members of this platform to follow our Code of Conduct. Our goal is to always provide an all-inclusive, safe, respectful, and comprehensive environment. We realize that we all come from different backgrounds, recovery methods, and stories and it is with this knowledge that we provide a judgment free zone. Your feedback is welcomed by contacting us through our website.
MEETING HOSTS
- All meeting hosts are expected to start the meeting at the time listed
- A back up host should be established prior to a meeting being added to the schedule. In the event you are not able to host the meeting please rely on your back up and notify someone at RYW
- Each meeting will start with the opening and end with the closing. The host will provide which type of meeting is being ran and advise accordingly
- The host will determine and communicate how participation will take place - raise hand feature, by name, open discussion, etc
- The host may choose to not use the chat feature on zoom or limit the exposure of the chat feature
- It is the responsibility of the host to keep the meeting on track, productive, and making sure that others are adhering to participant code of conduct
- Reminder - medical advice is not to be given out
MEETING PARTICIPANTS
- Please be sure that you are muted when you are not speaking to reduce the amount of background noise
- Use the raise hand feature when you want to contribute or as directed by the host of the meeting
- You do NOT need to display your name or have your camera on to participate in the meeting
- Please be respectful of potential triggering words when speaking about the use of any drugs and/or medication and provide the phrase "Trigger Warning" if the circumstances warrant saying so
- While no two stories are the same we recognize that topics of a sensitive nature are often discussed and just be mindful that it may be triggering to others
- We ask everyone to do their best in not talking over another person and/or interrupting but we also understand that this is an online/virtual/zoom meeting be courteous in mentioning
- It is not acceptable to disrespect, badger, harass and/or intimidate anyone (during or after a meeting) and will result in being removed
